Meet Charlie! He’s a big, sweet, lovebug of a guy.
We don’t know a whole lot about Charlie, just that his owner passed away and he came in with his friend, Lucy. Lucy is also available for adoption.

We are so thankful for our volunteers. Even though it was bitterly cold today, these brave souls still showed up to help out. Some members of the NSU Harry Potter Club and the Paranomal club came out to the shelter and raked some leaves, cleaned and reorganized one of our sheds, and walked some dogs.
Rescues can have a very upsetting background. They can start as pets that a family has changed their mind about or they can be a pup or kitten that has been tossed away because it was unwanted. The lucky ones become rescues and are cared for, adoptable (or adopted) and happy.
That’s what I want to focus on in this blog post- the positive and amazing transformation of a rescue that takes place when they finally find responsible, loving care.

Sunday was a relaxing, quiet day at the shelter.
This is who greeted me when I walked in the shelter door:
Sweet, lazy kitties. Cat Mandu and Spooky were super friendly.
I logged myself into the Walk for a Dog app (wooftrax.com) and I started walking our sweet pups.
Hollywood decided he was going to ham it up for my camera.
And he was happy to show off his sit!
King also had his photo face on:
After I stopped my walk on the Walk for a Dog app, I was informed that I had walked 3.3 miles with the app (so far)!
And before I left the shelter I said my goodbyes.
Forgive me! I have not been good about updating our adopted photo gallery.
Allow me to show you all the newest adoption photos and success stories that have been sent to us:
Today was a fun shelter day. I was happy to see Danny out there. He’s back from the prison training program. I HAD to walk him. He walked nicely! And even showed off his “sit”.
I walked Snow as well. She’s soooo sweet! And such a pretty girl!
